Senior Year of High school

img_3820.jpg

is so memorable, and April will no doubt have the best year of her life.

It’s just so much fun to do senior portraits, each young adult has a vibrancy and a unique style.

April is no different, and I look forward to doing more sessions with her–and I promise our next session will have NO flying insects :)

Some images just demand some funky processing–and this one looks great at 16×20!

Hope you had as much fun as I did!

Thank you!

July 12, 2008

was made by Govenor Jodi Rell’s proclamtion Mr and Mrs Daniel Gilbert Day in Connecticut!

They were married at the dam church (sic) in Thompson CT, admitedly one of my favorite churches in the sam-and-dan-151308.jpg

area, with formals at the Thompson Common, and reception at the Raceway Golf Club, in Thompson . I’ve been wanting to do this shot-which is a reflection from the organist’s mirror in the balcony for about 2 years!! Knowing that I was going to be on the floor of the church I showed Kelly what I wanted and she nailed it!

Truly a ‘green’ wedding, all the details were naturally grown -the centerpieces magnificent tall green grasses surrounded by grass seedings that Beth Green and Kathy Gilbert, aunt and mother of the groom,  planted themselves in pig feeders -and absolutely beautiful. Sam’s bouquet and all 8 of her maids along with the flower girl carried pastel hydrangeas. We had a quick fun ‘girls’ time when we all walked onto a green at the golfcourse and commandeered a golf cart from a 4-some who were a little amused at our request. That the girls were all ‘hawt’ made it a little easier! sam-and-dan-173023.jpg

Kelly and I were treated like family –which is so appreciated– and we want to thank both the Gilbert and Jackson families for welcoming us and making us feel right at home Professional DJ service by Tim at Blue Line Entertainment kept people on the dance floor until 1130pm. The food -delicious stuffed chicken, filet mignon and baked stuff shrimp-and service was excellent as always at the Golf Club-with a big well done to Justine who kept things moving and making sure everyone was taken care of.

Thank you all!sam-and-dan-164447.jpg

Red Sox vs Yankees!

The Boston Red Sox vs New York Yankees!

We’re all FANatics of course, and to be able to go to NYC to visit with daughter Andrea and friend Jenny with my sister for a girls weekend was a real treat! Nearly rained out, and the outcome of the game not what we wanted to see,jul05-152035.jpg

but it was fabulous to spend some quality time in the Big Apple, go to Ground Zero for some quiet time, and see how my baby is all growed up (sic) .

We had a wonderfully authentic Italian dinner at Portofinos (Um….. veal piccata!!), lots of hot dogs, lots of water (IT WAS HOT) and won’t have to go to the gym for a week after going up to the girl’s 5th floor walk-up!

4th of July Traditions

Every year since the mid-1940’s when the men came home from ‘the war’ the family has had a gathering of family and friends for a reading of the Preamble of the Declaration of Independance.Preamble to the Declaration of Independence

Truly a remarkable document it was had different meanings and impact at each reading : the 1960’s with the turmoil of assassination, war, leading to the 1970’s and corruption and healing, to the excesses of the 80’s and 90’s to today with the economic worries, but nothing that compare to have a family member– My daughter– serving her country overseas in yet another war that appears has a long time before being resolved. And the puppy wanted to be part of the show :)

Dad led with the preamble, and 5 of us read the grievences presented in 1776. It was a hard read, and harder with the knowlege that Morgan still has 5 more months in Iraq.
