Fun Weekend!

and didn’t realize it’s been so long since I’ve written! Lots of processing so hopefully will fill in the blanks.

Started out Friday night dancing the night away at Indian Ranch at the monthly dance party DJ’d by 98.8 with all the old songs :)

Saturday afternoon being welcomed into Kim and Jared’s families and celebrated their engagement with a pre-wedding party that was SO much fun–great families and the food was incredible! Pics coming shortly, I hope! Then stopped at the Labby’s for some detail shots of the new landscaping so Dad can get some ideas for the Vineyard.

Sunday afternoon with Barney. Sara, Jen, and a special treat with #1 (and only!) son Oliver and his girlfriend Caitlyn. And of course the variety of animals that control the Seney household. Lousy football game, but again the food was outstanding. I’m seeing a trend here with the food. Might have to do something about that!

Bailey decided to join me while setting up for a session tonight. She sat on my fabulous Wicker By Design baby lounger and looked so sweet and innocent. For the 2.5 seconds she remained stationary.

Bring your best friend over for a real family session!

4th of July Traditions

Every year since the mid-1940’s when the men came home from ‘the war’ the family has had a gathering of family and friends for a reading of the Preamble of the Declaration of Independance.Preamble to the Declaration of Independence

Truly a remarkable document it was had different meanings and impact at each reading : the 1960’s with the turmoil of assassination, war, leading to the 1970’s and corruption and healing, to the excesses of the 80’s and 90’s to today with the economic worries, but nothing that compare to have a family member– My daughter– serving her country overseas in yet another war that appears has a long time before being resolved. And the puppy wanted to be part of the show :)

Dad led with the preamble, and 5 of us read the grievences presented in 1776. It was a hard read, and harder with the knowlege that Morgan still has 5 more months in Iraq.

We celebrated with a wonderful lunch at the Coonamessett Inn, in Falmouth MA yesterday. All 4 kids were able to attend, and all but 2 grandkids. Catie
is in school in SC and Morgan is stationed in Iraq. Morgan was able to call at the right time, just before we sat to eat, and while the connection was statically, she was with us all day.

karen_leaf_photography_llc_ct_wedding_and_portrait_photography_8931.jpgWe all gave toasts, and gave Dad his gifts, some a little harder to decide on than others. I think he got 80 x 4 bags of Hersey Kisses, socks, underwear, Old Spice and the same ‘Dad’ stuff that we would give him as we were growing up. But the real gift was a 42″ Sharp HD TV.
He will never leave that nice comfy chair now!
